Natural Killer Cell Therapy

Natural Killer (NK) Cell Therapy is a pioneering approach in immunotherapy that harnesses the power of the body’s own immune cells to combat various diseases, including cancer. NK cells are a critical component of the innate immune system, known for their ability to recognize and destroy infected or malignant cells without prior sensitization. This makes them a vital tool in the fight against tumors and viral infections.

In recent years, advancements in cellular therapies have allowed for the enhancement and expansion of NK cells, enabling them to target cancer cells more effectively. This therapy is designed to improve the body’s immune response and promote the destruction of cancer cells, ultimately enhancing the patient’s quality of life.

The “K-Natural Killer Cell Therapy”

Natural Killer Cell Therapy involves the following key steps:

Natural Killer Cells Therapy

Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphoid cells in the same family as T cells and B cells. As cells of the innate immune system (first line of defence), NK cells carry out ‘natural’ killing by recognizing, eliminating infected and mutated cells without affecting the normal cells in the body.

Extraction of NK Cells

Collecting NK cells from the patient’s blood or donor sources.

Activation and Expansion

The isolated NK cells are activated and expanded in a controlled laboratory environment to increase their potency and effectiveness.

Infusion of Activated NK Cells

Once sufficient NK cells have been cultivated, they are reinfused into the patient’s bloodstream, where they can seek out and destroy cancer cells.
