STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE

This condition occurs when the patient suffers from involuntary squirt of urine (leaking) with sudden pressure on the bladder and/or the urinary track (coughing, laughing, sneezing, and exercising), causing the bladder door (sphincter muscles) to open briefly. This condition is also known as effort incontinence or the inability to hold in the urine. It affects women more than male, and statistically about 1 in every 3 women suffers from this condition. Should the pelvic floor, which supports the bladder and urethra, gets stretched, weakened or damaged, then incontinence could happen. Pregnancy and childbirth contribute largely to this condition.
