Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers!
Laser causes “skin thinning”
One of the topics most concerned by many during consultation is whether laser would cause skin thinning. The answer could be a YES or a NO. If it is done too often or if the machine is operated by non-professionals with insufficient knowledge, then YES. All medical laser machines are “Class IV Laser’, and they are only allowed to be operated by trained, certified medical personnel as determined by the law.

Lasers for aesthetic purposes generally do not possess any harmful effect to human skin if operated correctly and responsibly. Our skin cells have the innate ability to regenerate themselves after the procedure. Hence, the vital question should be who that’s going to perform the procedure instead of whether the laser is harmful.
Are Fillers and Botox the same?
Fillers and Botox and two completely different materials. BOTOX is a brand name for a toxin known as Botulinum Toxin A (BTA). The term ‘toxin’ might sound scary but that is what it was made of. It helps to relax the indicated muscles and thus diminishes the fine lines and wrinkles on the patient’s face. BTA is also used for the purpose of sweat reduction and facial contouring. There are 3 registered brands of BTA which are approved by the Ministry of Health in Malaysia:

– BOTOX (Manufacturer: Allergan, USA)
– Dysport (Manufacturer: Ipsen, UK)
– Xeomin (Manufacturer: Merz, Germany)

Fillers are generally used to fill up gaps in the skin and restore volume loss in our face caused by senescence (aging). They are made of hyaluronic acid which could be found naturally within our skin layers, and is shrewdly utilized to be injected under the skin following the advancement of medical aesthetics. It is compulsory for dermal fillers to be registered with the Ministry of Health:

– Juvederm (Manufacturer: Allergan, USA)
– Teosyal (Manufacturer: Teoxane, Switzerland)
– Belotero (Manufacturer: Merz, Germany)
– Restylane (Manufacturer: Galderma, USA)

Know what is going to be injected into your skin by prudently asking your doctor about the products beforehand.
Are Fillers and Botox toxic or dangerous? Would they cause harmful effects to my body?
Both botulinum toxin A (BTA) and fillers are safe IF administered in the right dosage. However, keep in mind that the most imperative question remains “Who” is the one administering the injection for you. Is he or she a professional, or a qualified medical personnel? Under Laws Of Malaysia – Medical Act, no one other than trained/ registered medical personnel is allowed to perform any injection in a patient’s body. Only doctor knows best about the techniques, dosages, and the suitable spots to administer injections. Almost all cases of reported complications from fillers were done by non-doctors.
Undergoing any aesthetic procedures would change you into someone you are not.
That depends entirely on your expectation and from whom you are seeking treatments. One should understand that aesthetic treatments are meant to enhance beauty, youthfulness, as well as one’s physical appearance from various angles. Undergoing a healthy and sustainable weight loss programme without starvation, or to better your skin conditions from scars, pigmentations or acnes are all positive physical enrichment programmes. Perhaps, misconceptions tend to come from patients who had overdone the treatments. If you are looking for drastic changes to your whole physical outlook, plastic surgeons should be the one to seek for. In the field of medical aesthetic practice, the K Klinik always advocates balance and modesty.
There is no point doing aesthetic treatments, as you have to maintain them consistently with repeated treatments.
Aging is inevitable, and the tell-tale signs will show no mercy. No matter how bad we want to, the truth is there is no way to fight aging like how we try to cure a disease, nor could we nail it in one sitting. The only way is to continuously promote cellular growth and collagen regeneration to replenish the depleted cells, thanks to the advancement of technology in aesthetic treatments. Freeze time and look absolutely fantastic with regular aesthetic procedures and by keeping yourself healthy. That is why it is important to allow yourself to receive treatments regularly, as how the doctor would recommend.
